Lucy in the sky with diamonds Can’t Buy Love and I’m the Walrus

KATE AND LEOPOLD AND MY FAIRY TALE

Was written on 4th Night and is being published on the 5th...i have no idea why it has two titles but it has!!!

Kate and Leopold…love defying all time periods yet accessible only in the world of the celluloid…I knew as I was watching the movie I had to write something…even if only ‘I love you’ addressed to me…I want to be in love…but thankfully I have fallen out of the phase where one tends to fall in love with the idea of being in love and lose out on a man thereby…it all seems so effortless in that world…there are time portals, a handsome man like Hugh Jackman and a character that remains just that ‘a character’ in the world of today…a man that chivalrous, hand written notes, a thoughtful homemade dinner on the terrace, a ride around the city in a chariot and a man keen on expressing his intentions to his woman before he goes any further with her…wonder if such men are limited to the world of ‘happily ever afters’ or else in the world of make believe…yet am hopeful…body tingling with anticipation at the thought of meeting one such wonderful man…a mind so playful that it keeps dangling that oh-so-yummy carrot every time I get cynical about love or relationships…a dream that keeps playing hide and seek with me that sometimes I get so infuriated that I choose to be awake in my dreams…where have those men gone who kiss you on your forehead to tell you they care, hold your hands even when you are sitting down to let you know they are there to support you or who break dishes in the kitchen while they try lending you a hand…why do I come across such men only in Mills and Boon or on television? They don’t ‘make love’ to you no more…they don’t know something called ‘sweet nothings’ ever existed or if they chose to, could still exist…

Why has it become so difficult for women to be in relationships in today’s world? financially secure, emotionally secure to a large extent and a sense of independence and individuality so strong that it never goes unnoticed…today time is spent more in shopping and in grooming than in actually spending some fun valuable time with your man…love is mechanical and funny I have to write about this with Valentine’s Day playing peek-a-boo ‘round the corner…but I also would like to promise myself that I shall lower my guard a wee bit…I owe this to myself and the charming tall dark and handsome man of my dreams who just might take pity on me and walk right in front of me…saucer like eyes I have and yet am so blind to such things in life…alas! if only I could open my heart wide like my eyes…

just to have some fun but also try and make a guess at how my modern day knight in shining armor or should we change that to my modern day knight in shining amor would be this is what popped in my head…sure feels like my head is a human version of the electronic microwave with all these thoughts popping up as and when they please like butter popcorn…

This is how he will be…Tall- would in all probabilities be an athlete or a basketball player or someone related to sports…and to think I hate sports…Dark- the men I see around who are as dark as I would like them to be are the auto drivers or my students and since I never date any of my students as a principle, leaves me with the auto drivers and guess it might be practical after all…imagine all the free transport I get...Handsome-now this is a mandate that can never be fulfilled coz for some reason today’s manufactured men are all cute or beautiful…Charming, Chivalry and Courteous are words unknown to men of this day and age unless they are 30+ old men wanting to get laid…yikes!!!not an appealing option…

So this is what I am gonna do now…I shall slip into the world of make believe within my personal biological microwave…cook up my very own customized fairy tale and start living a life of happily ever after…

Lucy in the sky with diamonds Can’t Buy Love and therefore I’m the Walrus J

Nitey nite dahlings…
